Varaždin County made history at the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards, winning a record-breaking 44 medals — 8 silver and 36 bronze — across 19 local wineries. Despite its small wine output, the region claimed over 11% of Croatia’s total medals, showcasing exceptional quality and growing global recognition.

At the 2024 Decanter World Wine Awards, 11 Croatian wines earned prestigious gold medals, showcasing the country’s growing reputation in the global wine scene. Several winners also stood out for offering exceptional value alongside top quality.

The results of the highly anticipated 20th Decanter World Wine Awards 2023 will be announced on Friday, June 30th. The grand occasion will be held in the Atrium of the County palace, where the awarded wines from the picturesque Varazdin County region will be ceremoniously presented.
