At this year’s prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) 2024, Croatian wineries once again demonstrated their quality and excellence on the global wine stage. Although the number of gold medals is slightly lower than in previous years, as many as 11 Croatian wines won the highest honor – a gold medal, each with an impressive score of 95 points.
The 11 Croatian gold medal winners are:
- Meneghetti Winery, Val Gambalera Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot, 2015
- Tasovac Winery, Grk, 2022
- Galić, Graševina, 2023
- Casa Boschi, Pošip, 2021
- Zure, Bartul Grk, 2021
- Viña Deak, Prestige Pošip, 2022
- Vizzulin, Dr. Cabernet Sauvignon, 2016

- Fakin, Il Primo Teran, 2020
- Vina Furjan, Rose Tradition Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut, 2021
- Zigante, Teran, 2020
Particularly noteworthy are three medals that, in addition to high quality, also received the "value" designation – meaning these wines offer an excellent price-to-quality ratio.
This success confirms the continuous development and growing recognition of Croatian wines on the global stage. Croatian wines are increasingly winning over wine lovers and experts worldwide, and awards like these further enhance the reputation of the domestic wine industry.
