INmusic Festival 2016 – Tesla Tower Stage
In 2016, the Zagreb INmusic festival built a festival stage dedicated to paying tribute to David Bowie and Nikola Tesla. The stage was placed inside a 100-foot-tall building replica of Tesla's original Wardenclyffe Tower. The Tesla Tower Stage at the INmusic festival was the first tower of its kind ever built in the world exactly 99 years after the historic original was demolished in 1917 on Long Island, New York.

Tesla literally is "the man who lit the world". Modern day life would not be possible without the scientific achievements and innovations developed by Tesla. Thanks to his inventions, the world has the benefit of listening to and sharing music in the form we known today. In 2016 the 160th anniversary of Tesla’s birth will be celebrated all over the world and the Tesla Tower Stage at INmusic will pay homage to more than one genius who shaped our world, - stated the journalists in 2016 on the pages of the INmusic festival
Why David Bowie? As they explained at the time, David Bowie played Tesla in Christopher Nolan's 2006 feature film "The Prestige." They pointed out that he was perfectly chosen for the role of a misunderstood genius, and the role of Tesla was also one of his last.
